Connection addresses
Use the address for your selected client. The HTTP API and SQL clients listen on separate ports.
Default ports
Section titled “Default ports”| Client or service | Port | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| HTTP SQL and health | 7173 |
--http-addr |
| PostgreSQL-compatible SQL clients | 5432 |
--pg-addr |
| ParticleDB native clients | 5440, when enabled |
--pdb-addr or --pdb-port |
| Redis-compatible clients | 6379 |
--redis-addr |
| gRPC clients | 26257 |
--grpc-addr |
| Prometheus metrics | 7175 |
--metrics-addr |
| MySQL-compatible clients | 3307, when enabled |
--mysql-addr |
SQL, HTTP and gRPC bind to all interfaces by default. The dedicated metrics listener defaults to loopback. Redis inherits the SQL listener’s interface unless explicitly configured. Set addresses explicitly when starting a local development server or deploying behind a private network.
Local development
Section titled “Local development”Follow the complete local development command to keep enabled listeners on loopback. Setting only --http-addr does not restrict the other listeners.
Native and MySQL clients
Section titled “Native and MySQL clients”The downloadable 1.1.19-rc.12 server enables the native client listener by default; it inherits the SQL listener interface. Earlier builds can require an explicit --pdb-addr to enable it. Set the address explicitly when consistent listener behavior matters.
MySQL is disabled by default. --mysql-addr or development --no-auth enables it. Review every enabled listener before disabling authentication.
Web console
Section titled “Web console”The web console is a separate application. This server does not accept --console-addr. Follow the web console guide for the console supplied with your installation.
Remote connections
Section titled “Remote connections”Replace localhost with your deployment’s host and configured port. Use TLS, authentication and network controls. See security.
