# Releases and client availability

Check downloadable server versions, published clients, package licenses and release-candidate limits.

## Server download

The [standard installer](https://get.particledb.ai) distributes a compiled server binary. Engine source is not publicly available. The documentation examples use `1.1.19-rc.12`; the macOS arm64 download was checked again on October 25, 2026.

```bash
particledb --version
particledb start --help
```

That release currently prints `spanner 1.1.19-rc.12`. Record the version and the artifact checksum when reproducing a result. The installer's `latest` download can change; it is not an immutable benchmark artifact.

The downloadable server is a release candidate. Check [feature limits](/limits/overview/), [transaction settings](/operations/transactions-and-durability/) and [recovery requirements](/operations/durability/) before adopting it. Optional Python Particles require a separate enabled distribution and authoring package.

## SDK license policy

ParticleDB-authored SDKs and the JDBC driver use MIT. Each current source package includes the MIT license. Third-party dependencies retain their own licenses.

## Published ParticleDB clients

Availability checked on October 25, 2026:

| Package | Published version | License in published metadata |
|---|---|---|
| [ParticleDB JDBC](https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/ai/particledb/particledb-jdbc/1.0.8/) | `1.0.8` | Apache-2.0 |
| [ParticleDB Java SDK](https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/ai/particledb/particledb-java-sdk/1.0.0/) | `1.0.0` | Apache-2.0 |

The [Java guide](/sdks/java/) documents JDBC and pgjdbc. Package publication alone does not establish compatibility with every server version.

The published Maven versions above predate the current MIT release candidates; their immutable package metadata still declares Apache-2.0. The newer native JDBC, Java, Python, Go, Rust and TypeScript SDKs are release candidates and are not yet published as a matching MIT release set. In particular, the native Python, Go, Rust and TypeScript candidates do not yet have public registry installation commands.

## Other language clients

The [language guides](/sdks/overview/) identify the published libraries used in their examples, including psycopg, node-postgres, pgx and tokio-postgres. Those third-party clients have their own publishers and licenses. A language guide does not imply that a ParticleDB-branded native package is published for that language.

## Benchmark releases

A public result needs an immutable download, exact version and checksum, edition, runtime prerequisites and a matching reproduction bundle. An unpublished candidate or a later installer build does not reproduce an earlier measurement. See [ClickBench methodology](/benchmarks/clickbench/).
