# Use the SQL client

Open a ParticleDB SQL session and run application queries.

Source: https://particledb.ai/connectivity/pdb-cli/

## Check the installed client

```bash
particledb cli --help
```

Use the client options supported by your distribution and the server's configured address. The interactive client and a browser console are separate interfaces.

## Run SQL

```sql
SELECT 1 AS ok;
```

For a complete table example, use [relational data](/guides/relational-data/).

## Scripts and automation

Use the installed client's file or batch option where available. Check its exit status and stop on errors in migration scripts. Do not silently continue after a failed transaction.
